Sustainability
We consciously aim to source ourĀ beans from growers engaged in sustainable farming as well as reputableĀ suppliers who are fully certified to supply Rainforest Alliance,Ā Fairtrade, Organic and UTZ certified coffee.
Fairtrade
Changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries.
NASAA Certified Organic
A globally recognised certification of organic products being produced in line with the strict industry organic and biodynamic standards.
Rainforest Alliance Certified
The product was produced using methods that support the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental.
UTZ Certified
Represents sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmers, their families, and our planet. The UTZ certification program enables farmers to use better farming methods, grow better crops, and generate more income. They learn how to improve working conditions, adapt to climate change, and protect the environment.
Ā
For example, our Guatemalan bean in our "SOUL" blend comes from a farm owned by the Echeverria family and has existed since the 1870s! The farm manages and conserves the natural resources by growing a variety of crops and encouraging all local flora and fauna to co-exist with the coffee plantations. They provide support for their employees such as access to medical care and education as well as improving living standards for the families. Their beans are UTZ Certified, NASAA Certified Organic and Rainforest Alliance Certified.
We also do what we can ourselves as part of the roasting and packaging process:
- Carbon-neutral power for roasting
- Compostable and biodegradable coffee capsules
- Recyclable paper based packaging
- 100% carbon neutral delivery
- Donate to Earthwatch Australia for the conservation of our reefs, oceans, wildlife habitats and landscapes as well as supporting climate change action
